Carnation at Port Royal, S.C., giving details of Union navy activities in the area of Port Royal and Parris Island, S.C. Topics discussed include encountering African American slave "Contrabands" spearing fish, commenting on excitement over the defeat of Union forces in Florida, and giving details of the sinking of the Union vessel Housatonic in Charleston harbor which was "blown up by a torpedo.. attached to a Cigar Boat" or submarine.
